Wimbledon Champions Trophy
The trophies presented to each of the different champions at Wimbledon are probably some of the best recognised in the world of sport. Amongst tennis fans, the trophies presented to the Wimbledon Mens singles Champions and Womens single champions each year are a very familiar sight, but even amongst other sports fans, images of one of the many Wimbledon greats holding aloft the winning trophy are common the world over. In addition to the winning a trophy, the Wimbledon Champions each receive a significant amount of prize money.
The trophy presented to the mens singles champion has remained the same since 1887 and is a solid silver gilt cup, inscribed with the words 'The All England Lawn Tennis Club Single Handed Champion of the World'.
Womens Singles Champions Trophy
The trophy awarded to the winner of the Womens Singles Champion is known as the Venus Rosewater Dish and has been presented since 1886 and is an eye catching circular shaped trophy.
The runners up in both the mens and womens singles events each receive a silver plate whilst the winners of the Mens, Womens and mixed doubles all receive silver cups also, but not as big as the one awared to the mens champion.
