Serena Williams - 5/2 Fav

Beaten in the 2008 Wimbledon ladies singles final by big sister, Venus Williams, Serena will start the 2009 tournament as co favourite to win with her sister. Already a Grand Slam winner this year, after she won the Australian Open defeating Dinara Safina in the final, Serena struggled to find her very best form in the French Open but did make it through to the semi finals, losing to eventual winner, Svetlana Kuznetsova.

After she won her first of two Wimbledon crowns in 2002, there were many who predicted that she would go on to win it for as long a she played, but this never materialised. She has only won at Wimbledon twice but she has achieved a total of ten Grand Slam victories in her career to date.

Tennis backers will no doubt have Serena on their shortlist to win the Womens singles for a third time this year but for her to do that she must remain injury free and be able to oversome sister, Venus who is slightly better equipped for grass court tennis. She is currently 5/2 in the Wimbledon Womens betting
